Most livestream platforms today keep track of who donates the most to streamers. This often leads to funny and awkward moments happening live, especially on female streamers’ channels.
Recently, on a Chinese livestream platform, a story unfolded that was both hilarious and heartbreaking. A gamer, known as the “big brother” figure on a female streamer’s channel, had donated a significant amount of money to her. Partly out of admiration and partly because he had feelings for her, he wanted to support his crush as much as possible.
But the catch was, this gamer was already married. Unfortunately, one time when he donated tens of thousands to his crush, his wife caught him red-handed. Using her husband’s donation account, she sent a message live on stream saying, “I’m just an ordinary working person. I have to support my wife, kids, and family. I promise I will never donate that much again.”
Since then, this guy disappeared from the list of top donors to the female streamer. Occasionally, his name would pop up as a viewer, but he would just watch quietly without donating or chatting anymore.
The lesson here is for gamers to know their limits, especially those with families. Don’t get distracted chasing someone else or you might end up disappearing like this guy.
