When PUBG Mobile first launched in China, players encountered a lot of strange phenomena and mysterious objects on the map. Many reported bizarre experiences during parachute drops that had no clear explanation. One famous example was a dinosaur that seemed to “deliver bait,” surprising many players.
One of the scariest mysteries early on was the appearance of an object players called the “bride corpse.” One gamer shared, “I still remember when PUBG Mobile first came out, the mannequins inside buildings freaked out a lot of players. We even nicknamed them the ‘bride corpse.’”

Specifically, the so-called “bride corpse” or “corpse bride” were faceless mannequins dressed in white wedding gowns. What made it even creepier was that sometimes players would see them, but after turning around a few times, the mannequins would suddenly disappear.
Eventually, the developers had to remove these mysterious figures to avoid scaring players. Tencent decided to erase these eerie elements so gamers could enjoy the game without being haunted by unexplained and unsettling mysteries.
