Recently, Call of Duty Mobile players have been unable to log into their accounts using Facebook. According to the admin team on Call of Duty Mobile VNG’s fanpage, the publisher is working closely with Tencent and Facebook to complete the necessary steps to fix the issue and upgrade login security. It’s easy to understand why players are frustrated since their progress and in-game assets are at stake.
However, if the account recovery proves impossible, players might have to accept a total loss. This is beyond the control of both VNG and the players. On top of that, many games include terms that protect the publisher’s rights.

Take VNG’s League of Legends: Wild Rift for example: “The Game is provided to You for entertainment purposes along with Your in-Game experiences, in compliance with relevant laws, all virtual items, units, rewards, and points in the Game are not assets and have no monetary value or exchangeability for cash, payment cards, vouchers, or any tradable goods outside the Game. Therefore, if Your Game account is deleted and/or the Game is suspended or discontinued for any reason, all virtual units, items, rewards, and points will lose their value and be deleted after completing legal procedures (if any). VNG is not obligated to refund or compensate any cash or material value to You. However, VNG will make reasonable efforts to notify You in advance and provide measures to protect Your rights in accordance with the law.”
The problem is, very few players actually read these user agreements. Even those who do rarely pay much attention. That’s the case with Wild Rift’s terms. As for Call of Duty Mobile, the page with these terms is currently showing a “404” error.
