Toxic and Twisted Music Content Floods TikTok
TikTok isn’t just full of inappropriate content anymore, it’s now a hotspot for “twisted music” that even turns into viral cover trends. Many users are outraged as these offensive parody songs spread quickly and openly on the platform. Recently, the poem “Lượm” by poet Tố Hữu was twisted into a disrespectful and cringe-worthy trend.
Many users are upset seeing the character Lượm from classic literature being mocked with meaningless, silly lyrics. What’s worse, this isn’t the first time TikTok has been flooded with harmful parody songs. This is dangerous because such content can negatively affect young people’s aesthetic sense, literary appreciation, and understanding of history, especially students still in school.
No O No Boldly Returns
No O No was a TikToker who faced heavy backlash for videos insulting poor people. TikTok had permanently banned his account at the time. A TikTok Vietnam spokesperson said, “We permanently banned the user @tuanbrice (also known as ‘No O No’) for content that violated our community standards.”
But recently, this TikToker has somehow returned with a new account boasting over 350,000 followers. This shows how lenient some TikTok users and even the platform itself can be. Without TikTok’s algorithm pushing his videos, No O No’s content wouldn’t reach so many people. So was the previous “strong action” just for show?
