Streaming has quickly become one of the most popular jobs among young people and has grown massively in recent years. However, not everyone in society fully understands or recognizes what a streamer does, especially older generations. This led to a funny yet frustrating story involving Poopernoodle, the streamer featured here.

According to Poopernoodle, a few months ago she applied for a credit card that would allow her to make purchases abroad. When filling out the form, she got stuck on the “current occupation” section because none of the options fit her job as a streamer. The closest choice she found was “adult online entertainer,” so she selected that. At the time, it seemed reasonable since she is an adult and provides online entertainment on Twitch for mature audiences.

But almost immediately, the bank denied her request, mainly because of how she described her job. It wasn’t until she talked with her mom that she realized the problem and quickly spoke out to clear her name, explaining her channel only streams wholesome content, nothing like what people assumed. She also partly blamed the bank for not having any options like “online broadcaster” or “streamer” on their list.

Poopernoodle tried to explain her job to the bank, but it didn’t seem to make much difference. She eventually admitted that streaming still isn’t widely recognized as a legitimate profession by society.
