According to Thai media, a man from Chumphon province, Thailand, bought a lottery ticket and incredibly won the jackpot worth 24 million baht (around 16.3 billion VND).
After becoming a millionaire, he spent about 240,000 baht (roughly 163 million VND), which is 1% of his prize money, on something unexpected: hosting a feast at his hometown cemetery.

The man felt his luck was so overwhelming it seemed unreal. He believed the spirits resting in his local cemetery blessed him with this fortune. Following local customs, he decided to return home and hold a banquet with 200 tables at the cemetery to honor the spirits.
Photos shared online show each table offering about eight dishes, including cold dishes, fried rice, stewed chicken, Thai-style steamed fish, soup, and desserts. Each table cost 1,200 baht (around 817,000 VND).

Anan Bamrungpruek, who handled the food for this “cemetery feast,” told the media the jackpot winner was very generous, giving him full control to prepare the dishes according to local traditions.
To share his luck and happiness, the host warmly welcomed all locals to join the celebration, especially poor families who could take food home.
