At the end of 2018, Vietnam’s hottest streamer PewPew surprised everyone by announcing he was opening a banh mi shop. This was a project he had dreamed about for a long time and marked his very first startup, kicking off his shift into business ventures. The effort PewPew and his team put into growing the brand to what it is today is truly hard to put into words.

In the early days, his banh mi shop was a hit, with customers lining up for hours just to get a sandwich. But over time, the hype faded. By 2019, PewPew had to close his third location. That same year, the streamer decided to step away from Vietnam’s entertainment scene to focus fully on his business.

When the pandemic hit and the situation dragged on, business took a serious hit. PewPew admitted, “It was unbelievable, just trying to survive!” He had previously revealed he was in debt, even selling his motorbike to cover costs and keep the business afloat despite losses.
Now, PewPew’s banh mi brand has reached its 5-year milestone. Looking back at his “baby,” the streamer shared emotionally: “November 11, 2023: Five years with Banh Mi PewPew!!!
First, I want to sincerely thank all our customers for their constant support and care! Our goal has always been customer satisfaction. So we really look forward to your feedback to improve and bring the best experience possible!
Today was tiring but an amazing day. Cheers!”

Fans flooded the post with admiration for PewPew’s efforts to keep the brand alive despite losses, protecting the reputation and nurturing his “baby.”

Fans are also hoping PewPew will soon expand his shop, opening more locations across different provinces and cities.
